TOWN COUNCILLOR VACANCY
With reference to the public notices published on 20th May 2024 in respect of the casual vacancy on this Town Council, Cornwall Council has confirmed that no requests were received asking that an election be held.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant of Rule 8 of the Local Elections (Parishes and Communities) Rule 1986, Callington Town Council has a vacancy arising by way of co-option.
1. Application forms to fill the vacancy can be obtained from the Town Council at the address below or by emailing clerk@callington-tc.gov.uk
2. Application forms should be submitted to the Town Clerk at the address below by noon on Friday 19th July 2024
3. Candidates will be requested to attend a meeting of the Full Council on Tuesday23rd July at 7.00pm in the Council Chamber, Town Hall. You will be asked to give a summary of why you want to become a Councillor and what you have to offer the Council. Please note that this will take place in front of members of the public if there are any in attendance.
4. If more applications are received than vacancies to be filled, the Town Council will decide, by way of a written vote, which of the applications is to fill the vacancies.
