Cornwall Council is consulting on plans to introduce a 20mph speed limit on most residential streets in the Caradon Community Network Area following strong local support. The aim is to improve road safety, especially for pedestrians, cyclists and vulnerable users and support the Vision Zero goal of eliminating serious and fatal road injuries.
Lower speed limits are also expected to make communities more pleasant by encouraging walking and cycling, reducing noise and air pollution and creating safer, more sociable streets.
