Festive Light Repairs

Fore Street will be partially closed in August on Tuesday 27th, Wednesday 28th and Thursday 29th for essential repairs to the festive lights in the Town.   Access will be for buses and emergency vehicles.

Why these repairs you may ask?  The electrics for the Christmas lights have been causing some problems for a few years, in fact, last year they flickered on and off whenever there was any wind.  Those of you with long memories will know that some of these electrics are thirty years old!

Callington Town Council now has the funds to repair the electrics and these repairs will take place on the dates above.  A ‘rolling’ road closure will be put in place so that only part of the road will be closed at any one time. The Town Council has employed a professional company to handle the road closure ensuring that everything is kept legal and safe.

Our local electricians will be using a hydraulic platform and will be carrying out the works one section at a time.   If you have any queries or question please contact the Town Council office on 01579 384039.  Thank you for your co-operation.
