Christmas 2023 recycling and rubbish collections
If your rubbish collection is due on Monday 25 December, we’ll collect it on Monday 1 January.
If your rubbish collection is due on Tuesday 26 December, we’ll collect it on Tuesday 2 January.
If your recycling or garden waste collection is due on Monday 25 December, we’ll collect it on Saturday 23 December.
If your recycling or garden waste collection is due on Tuesday 26 December, we’ll collect it on Saturday 30 December.
If you receive a clinical waste collection, we’ll get in touch directly about your collections over Christmas.
All other collections will take place as normal.

Real Christmas tree collections
If you’re a subscriber to our garden waste collection service, we’ll collect your real tree for composting. Please put it out beside your bin or bag on your garden waste collection day. If you’re not a garden waste customer, please compost your tree at home if you can, take it to your Household Waste and Recycling Centre, or consider subscribing to garden waste collections by visiting www.cornwall.gov.uk/gardenwaste.
Household Waste and Recycling Centres
Cornwall’s HWRCs will be closed on:
- Christmas Day
- Boxing Day
- New Year’s Day
They will be open 9am to 4pm over the rest of the festive period.
