The Callington Community Arts Venue – popularly known as “CAVe” – is a much appreciated venue for a wide range or cultural and artistic activities. It has become established as a highly valued part of Callington’s life.  Its aim is to provide monthly live entertainment which will appeal to a broad cross-section of the community and suitable for all tastes and ages and make it available at a price that is affordable without having to pay for transport, bridge tolls and parking.

Since its inception in 2009 a wide range of theatre productions have been staged and live entertainment of all genres has been promoted: from jazz to pop, from opera to folk, from puppets to magic, from comedy to story-telling. Guest artistes have included stars and shows both locally based and from around the country, many famous from screen and radio, often with years of experience at the Edinburgh Festival  behind them.

Films are shown on the fourth Thursday of each month when we feature films of note, both recent releases and older “classics”.

In 2013 CAVe was at the helm of re-introducing MayFest activities which brought music and dance back to the streets of Callington.
