Can you help us, and we help you?

Many people are finding it difficult with the increasing costs of living. Sometimes it seems difficult to know what to spend money on, heating or eating.

We are all aware of the crisis the environment is under and trying to reduce our impact can seem to costly when we are on a budget. With an initiative from Devon and Cornwall Food Action you can make a difference.

For £25 (cash or card payment) you can purchase goods worth over £80 and the produce does not end up in landfill.

Callington Town Council and Devon & Cornwall Food Action Group are pleased to be able to provide this service to the Parish of Callington & Kelly Bray.

The next event will be held on Thursday 30th May 2024 in the Scout Hut, Callington. PL17 7BE between 11:30am and 1:00pm where you can collect and pay for your ordered boxes.

Please bring plenty of your own bags.

Please note we cannot guarantee that produce will be nut free.

If you would like to order a box please complete the online form on this page by Monday 27th May 2024 or alternatively email enquiries@callington-tc.gov.uk or call 01579 384039 between 9am and 2pm.

We will call or email to confirm your order.

Devon and Cornwall Food Action started in 2010 with the aim of helping people experiencing food poverty by redistributing donated surplus produce via food boxes.

Devon and Cornwall Food Action's aim is to help any individual, family or community who are experiencing food poverty, or financial instability. However food boxes are available to anybody to assist us in reducing food waste.

DCFA is not a foodbank. We work with food producers and supermarkets to redistribute surplus food.

The food is still perfectly fit for consumption and would otherwise have been sent to landfill or disposed of. Last year the equivalent of 200 tonnes of food was redistributed.
