Are you interested in how your Town Council operates?
Would you be interested in becoming a Town Councillor?
Town Councillors are people elected to the Town Council to represent their local community – you do not need to be a member of a political party. We need all different types of people so that the Town Council reflects the community it serves, so whatever your age, background or skills you could be the perfect person, you just need some time, enthusiasm and commitment. Callington Town Council meet three times a month on the first, third and fourth Tuesday, in the evenings. There are four committees, Planning, Outside Services, Town Hall and Finance and General Purposes. A Full Council meeting is held on the fourth Tuesday every month.
Following the resignation of Cllr Penny Ward, we have a vacancy for a Town Councillor. If you are interested in this vacancy please contact the Proper Officer at Cornwall Council Electoral Services before 10th June 2024. If less than 10 electors call for an election then the vacancy will be filled by co-option after 10th June 2024.
